This is adjective for "like, love". Pronounce as "Suki".

And, you can write it in Hiragana, it is...

 

すき

 

Notice the difference from English. Because "like/love" is a verb in English when you say "you like something".

 

いぬが すき

 

When you say "Like/Love a dog.". The word "dog" is "いぬ" in Japanese.

 

There is "が" following "いぬ". This is an object marker. Because "Dog" is an object in this sentence.

 

ねこが すき

 

"ねこ" is a cat in Japanese. So, this means "like a cat".

 

You can put any noun as the object. Next, "like her" in Japanese is,

 

かのじょが すき

 

"かのじょ" is "her" in English.

 

わたしは いぬが すきです

 

means "I like dogs.".
